The servant lifted up her hands, crying, "Didn't I tell you that my master was mad? Come, dear sir, we will make you well again." She helped him to get down from the donkey.

Then they carried him to his room, took off his armour, and put him on his bed. Then th
ey asked him where he was hurt, and Don Quixote explained that he was hurt all over. He said that ten knights had thrown him from his horse in a fight. They were the most terrible giants in the world.

"Aha," said the priest, "so he is talking of giants! I will burn those books before tomorrow evening." Soon his friend, Don Quixote, was comfortably in bed. Then he went outside to
see the man who had brought him home. The man described how he had found Don Quixote at the roadside, half beaten to death. With great difficulty, he had put Don Quixote on his donkey, and brought him back to the village.

All the way, the mad gentleman had talked wildly of knights and ladies, princes and castles, and princesses kept as prisoners in castles. This made the priest even more certain that it was necessary to burn
the books.
