Don Quixote was pleased that the master of the castle that is, the inn-keeper was so polite. He replied happily, "It is easy to please me, sir; a soldier's needs are very simple."

The inn-keeper helped Don Quixote to get down from his horse. The old man was very weak because
he had eaten nothing all day. "Please take care of my horse," he said, "he is the best horse in all the world."

Don Quixote Is Looked After

The inn-keeper gave one look at poor Rozinante, but saw nothing to praise. He quickly took the animal away, and came back to look after his unusual guest. During this time, Don Quixote had allowed the women to ta
ke off his heavy armour. When they had finished, they asked him if he wanted anything to eat. "A simple supper is all I wish," answered Don Quixote. They told him they had only a little fish, so he as
ked them to bring it.

When the fish came it was the poorest kind, and smelt very bad. The table was outside because the room was so hot. So there Don Quixote sat down to have his sup
per. When he had nearly finished, a country workman walked past, playing some simple music.
