欲将寒涧树,You lug those trees from the cold mountain stream,

瘦叶几经雪,Their shriveled leaves have been pelted by snow;

淡花应少春.Their pallid flowers have not seen much of spring.

长安重桃李,People in this town adore peach and plum blossoms.

徒染六街尘!Why let your trees be stained by the red dust for nothing?
