The other squire had a long pointed nose which hung down a foot below his mouth.
Sancho looked for his master who was getting ready for the fight. The Knight of the Mirrors had closed his visor so that his face could not be seen. Over his armour he wore a long coat. It was made
of gold cloth, and was covered with many small mirrors. They shone brightly in the light of the rising sun.

While Don Quixote was noticing these things, Sancho came running to him in excitement. "Look, master, the nose, the nose!" Don Quixote looked, and saw the squire with the long, pointed nose. He decided that this was some terrible animal from another world.

"Help me to climb this tree, dear master," said Sancho in a frightened voice. "II want to see you fight the knight, and I can see well from the branches." Don Quixote smiled at his squire's explanation, but hel
ped him climb the tree. Then, holding his lance, Don Quixote rode wildly towards the enemy. The other knight was trying to make his horse rush forward to attack. But the horse refused to move. Before the Knight of the Mirrors could get his lance ready, Don Quixote struck him and knocked him to the ground. He lay there without moving.
