Kicking Shuttlecock

Every morning when I am taking a walk in my neighborhood,  I am attracted by a group of elder people kicking shuttlecock. I sometimes join them.
Kicking shuttlecock is a popular game among folks in Beijing. It's very easy to make a shuttlecock. Use two bronze coins, put them together, and tie them tightly by a thread with some feather, a feather shuttlecock is done. Use a pile of waste paper, cut them into pieces and tie them to the coin, a paper shuttlecock is then finished. Consumed plastic bags can also be used to make shuttlecocks. Of course, there are shuttlecocks sold in stores. They usually use fine materials, e.g., rubber instead of coins.

How come kicking shuttlecock becomes so popular? First, it's good for our health. Second, it doesn't limit the number of players. It can be played by one, two, or a circle of people. Even when you play by yourself, you can often attract other people coming around and watching you play.

The old man I kick shuttlecock with every morning is very good at the skills. He does every action at ease and with rhythm, jumping or kicking. He can not only kick with the inner side of his foot but kick in running, kick with knees, stomach, and even head. He makes the shuttlecock flying in the sky at his wills, just like a skilled young acrobatics star.
