| Wimbledon Light Opera Society
I learned from Hamish Norbrook, a BBC reporter, that Wimbledon Light Opera Society was formed 75 years ago in Wimbledon. Although their group is an amateur society, they have an excellent and professional production team. They produce two shows each year, ranging from classic British and American musicals to reviews. The amateurs meet because they want to put on music theatre, as a hobby, not as a paid job. Throughout the year they rehearse once a week, with rehearsals every Sunday afternoon nearer show time.
