This time we are going to look at expressions to do with money. Some people believe money is the root of all evil whilst others believe money makes the world go round. Whatever the case one thing is sure money talks!
FORMAL
1. The government is minting lots of special coins to celebrate the Olympics.

INFORMAL
2. British people often use the word dosh for money.

3. A slang word for US paper currency is greenbacks.

4. He would sell his soul for filthy lucre.

5. Words for food are also used for money. Words like dough, bread or even pasta.
