'Toy Story 3,' the third and final entry in Pixar's animated saga of toys Woody and Buzz Lightyear, opens tomorrow and film fans have been keeping a close eye on the movie website Rotten Tomatoes all week. Why? Because the first two films both logged perfect 100% fresh reviews, and fingers are crossed that the third film does as well.

They needn't worry. 'Toy Story 3,' a fun - and meditative - look at what happens to toys after their owners grow up, has been impressing the critics. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen reprise their voice roles as Woody and Buzz, and are joined by such newcomers as Ned Beatty (as Lotso Bear, who runs the Sunnyside Day Care), Michael Keaton (as a metrosexual Ken doll), and Timothy Dalton (as a hedgehog with actorly ambitions). Here's a look at what some of the critics are saying.

* 'It's as madly mischievous and inventive as Toy Story and its sequel, from the mushroom cloud of a Barrel of Monkeys that caps the film's Wild West fantasy prelude to the brilliantly skewed suspense sequences that transform the day-care center into the set for an elaborate, child's-play version of a prison-escape thriller. (When a Fisher-Price Chatter Telephone started to talk like a film-noir informant, I knew I was in movie heaven.)... I think it's the studio's greatest achievement since The Incredibles, and - just maybe - since the original Toy Story.' [Owen Gleiberman, EW]

* 'This is a jolly, slapstick comedy, lacking the almost eerie humanity that infused the earlier 'Toy Story' sagas, and happier with action and jokes than with characters and emotions. I expect its target audience will love it, and at the box office, it may take right up where 'How to Train Your Dragon' left off. Just don't get me started about the 3-D.'
