1970年3月27日，Mariah Carey出生于纽约的长岛。Mariah Carey的名字就源自于歌剧 Paint Your Wagon 中 They Call the Wind Mariah 一歌。Mariah 的母亲是爱尔兰人 ， 而她的父亲则是个委内瑞拉籍的美洲黑人。她有一个哥哥 Morgan 和一个姐姐 Alison 。
