Robots seem very new to most people. But they have a long history. The first one was made by a Greek inventor. You may have seen robots in some films. The robots in these films are stronger, faster and cleverer than people. In real life, most robots are used in factories. They are used to do many dangerous, difficult or boring jobs. Some people can’t see. Many of these people use a dog to help themselves move around. This dog is called a guide dog. Scientists are making a robot to help them. In the future, robot dogs might take the place of these guide dogs.
Robots are also used in American hospitals. At one hospital, a robot takes meals from the kitchen to the sick people’s rooms. It never loses its way because it has a map of the hospital in its computer system.
In the future, robots will work in space. But robots will never take the place of human help. They can, however, help us in a lot of different ways.

Dear Steven,
How time flies! It is almost two weeks since you left for America.
I received your letter. Your Chinese is quite good with only a few mistakes. Please keep working hard on your Chinese. I translated your letter into English and then I told the class what you said. Bob and Jane said that they knew what you meant about not wanting to eat rice but Suzy said that she didn’t understand foreigners at all.
Yesterday at school Miss Zhang gave us an English dictation test. I came top of the class with 19 correct answers out of 20. The only word I spelled wrongly was ‘chimney’ but it is an unusual word, don’t you think?
Tomorrow we are all going on a class trip to the history museum. We are going to see a special exhibition about the British in Hong Kong. I am looking forward to seeing photographs of old Hong Kong and to seeing how the famous harbour has changed. Maybe one day I will visit there, who knows?
As for the presents you should bring back from America: most of the class said they wanted baseball caps. Xiao Ping said he wanted you to bring back a real American hamburger, but I don’t think you are allowed to do that. I would like an English dictionary to help me with my studies. That all for today. Please give my best wishes to your family and don’t forget to write soon.
Yours friend,
May

When you want to go shopping, decide how much money you can spend for new clothes .think about the kind of clothes you really need. Then look for those clothes on sale.
There are labels inside all new cloths. The labels tell you how to take care of your clothes. The label on a coat may say “dry clean only”. Washing may ruin this coat. If you do as the directions say on the label, you can keep your clothes looking their best.
Dry cleaning is expensive. When buying new clothes, check to see if they will need to be dry cleaned. You will save money if you buy clothes that can be washed.
You can save money if you buy clothes that are well made. Clothes that cost more money are not always better made. They do not always fit better. Sometimes less expensive clothes look and fit better than more expensive clothes.
1.If you want to save money, you can buy clothes that can be dry cleaned.
2.The labels inside the clothes tell you how to keep them looking their best.
