Ms. Nelson, a Wall Street Journal staff reporter, ran the marathon Monday and was near the site of the bombings when they occurred. Here is her account:

On marathon day, the finish line is always the happiest place. So as I made the long-awaited turn at Mile 26 onto Boylston Street, I couldn't help but smile as the finish line came into view. I picked up the pace as I heard the crowd and saw my target.


对于马拉松赛来说,终点线永远是最快乐的地方。所以在我跑完期待已久的26英里(约合41.6公里)赛程、转到博伊尔斯顿街(Boylston Street)上时,我不禁微笑起来,因为可以看到终点线了。我听到人群的欢呼声,看见了自己的目标,于是开始加速。
