According to Daily Mail of August 8, a six-week-old Kookaburra and a two-days-old duckling, who should have been predator and prey in the wild, have confounded experts by striking up an extraordinary friendship in the Seaview Wildlife Encounter. The pair seem to have developed the unusual bond after both being orphaned at birth; Kookie was saved after his parents killed their other two offspring while duckling was rescued because he was thought too small to defend himself.
