One of the world's richest websites might have been expected to spend a little more on the redecoration.
But as the pictures from inside Facebook's new offices show, the company appears to have skimped on the soft furnishings.
The pictures from inside the 57-acre site in Menlo Park, California, were uploaded onto the company's own social network page earlier this month.
The new headquarters didn't even have carpets throughout, let alone the sprawling couches.
A view that is more common in factories or warehouses of exposed pipes wrapped in silver insulation and metal air vents can be seen suspended from the ceiling in the pictures.
There's even a shabby 1950s style armchair.
Instead of coffee tables, designers seem to have used upturned wooden boxes. And the bizarre seating arrangements include some people facing walls.
There's even a rusty iron girder with spray paint running through one of the boardrooms and wires dangling between the rafters.
Strangely, the furnishings are red and yellow instead of the blue that the company has become known for.
