  背对黑板是个多功能的课堂练习,既可以用来引入新的语言点,又可以用来复习。
Back to the board is a fun and versatile activity that can be used for either introducing or reviewing language.

Back to the board is conducted as a whole class activity, but can also be done with teams to make a competitive game.

Ask one student to come and sit at the front of the class with his or her back to the board so that they are facing the other students. If playing a team game, you could ask 2 or 3 students to do this.

Write up a word, a sentence or perhaps even draw a picture on the board that is visible to the whole class, all except the student sitting at the front.

The student sitting at the front must guess what the teacher has written on the board. They do this by listening to clues given by the other students in the class, who can say anything, but must not use any of the words written on the board. If the teacher writes on the board "bananas are yellow", the students may give clues like this:

"There are three words in the sentence."
"The first word is a fruit. Monkeys like this fruit."
"The third word is a colour. The sun is this colour too."
"The second word is a verb."

Once the student has guessed the word, change roles and ask a different student to come to the front.

This activity also gives the teacher an opportunity to introduce some useful but simple grammatical words to the students. These may include such things as "verb", "noun", "adjective", "plural" etc.
