   Step I Revision

   a. Greeting

   b. Sing the song "put your right hand in."

   c. Compare the things and review "big", "little", "long" and "short".

   Step II Presentation

   Touch hair and present the "hair".

   T: Hair.

   Ss: Hair.

   T: Is my hair long or short?

   Ss: Long.

   T: Yes. I have long hair. What color is my hair?

   Ss: It's black.

   T: Good. I have long, black hair.

   T: (Point to a student's long hair.) She has long hair.

   Ss: She has long hair.

   Explain the use of "has" and point to a student's short hair.

   T: She has short hair.

   Ss: She has short hair.

   T: I have long hair. But she has short hair. We look different.

   Ss: We look different.

   T: They look different.

   Ss: They look different.

   Lead the students to read different several times and explain it in Chinese if necessary.

   Step III Practice

   a. Listen to the tape and repeat.

   b. Introduce group members.

   S1: This is Xiao Hong. She has long hair.

   S2: This is Xiao Qiang. He has short hair. They look different.

   Step IV Presentation

   Ask and answer with students and let them guess what color the person's hair and eyes are in the picture.

   T: (Hold a picture, but flash the picture.) What color is his hair?

   S1: Is his hair black?

   T: Sorry. No.

   S2: Is his hair brown?

   T: No. Look. His hair is blond. Say blond.

   Ss: Blond.

   T: What color are his eyes?

   S3: Are his eyes black?

   T: Sorry. No.

   S4: Are his eyes green?

   T: Yes. That's right. You are great. (Show the picture to them.) Look at this boy. His hair is _____.

   Ss: Blond.

   T: Good. His hair is blond and his eyes are green.

   Step V Practice

   a. Listen and answer

   Listen to the tape and answer the following questions:

   1. What color is her hair? (Her hair is black.)

   2. What color are here eyes? (Her eyes are brown.)

   3. Is here hair black too? (No, here hair is blond.)

   4. Are here eyes blue, too? (Yes, they are.)

   5. Is his hair brown or black? (His hair is brown.)

   6. Are his eyes black or green? (His eyes are green.)

   b. Listen to the tape and repeat.

   Step VI Presentation

   a. Listen and complete the sentences.

   Play the audiotape, and let the students listen carefully and complete these sentences:

   Jenny has ___ ___ hair and she has ____ eyes.

   Linda has ___ ___ hair and she has ____ eyes.

   Bob has ___ ___ hair, and he has ___ eyes.

   Danny has ____ hair. Danny is ____.

   b. Check the answer and listen again. This time le the students follow the tape.

   Step VII Practice

   a. Listen to the tape and repeat.

   Explain the use of hair. It can be used as an uncountable noun when it refers head of hair. It can be used as a countable hair when it refers to one of the fine thread-like strands that grow from the skin of people and animals.

   b. Play a guessing game.

   Choose one of your classmates. Say something about him / her. Let other students guess who he / she is. Remember: don't say his / her name. You may talk about his/her hair or clothes.

   A sample speaking:

   He has short and black hair. His sweater is blue. He is very tall. He is 1.6 meters tall.

   Step VIII Homework

   a. Finish the exercises in the activity book.

   b. Recite Part 3 in the textbook.

   c. Preview Lesson 22.
