Baidu Inc. (BIDU) has broken ground at the site of a new office at the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen, the search engine
operator said Monday. The building will
accommodate 10,000 employees and should open in 2015.
It will be Baidu's operations center for southern China and also its
headquarters for
international operations, the company said.
'The mobile Internet and internationalization are the key directions of Baidu's future growth,' Chief Executive Robin Li said in a statement, adding that the Shenzhen office will also serve as a development base for mobile Internet technology.
